Manuela M. Veloso is the firmwide Head of AI Research, which pursues fundamental research in areas of core relevance to financial services, including data mining and cryptography, machine learning, explainability, and human-AI interaction. The team partners with applied data analytics teams across the firm as well as with leading academic institutions globally.

Professor Veloso is on leave from Carnegie Mellon University as the Herbert A. Simon University Professor in the School of Computer Science, and the past Head of the Machine Learning Department.

With her students, she had led research in AI, with a focus on robotics and machine learning, having concretely researched and developed a variety of autonomous robots, including teams of soccer robots, and mobile service robots. Her robot soccer teams have been RoboCup world champions several times, and the CoBot mobile robots have autonomously navigated for more than 1,000km in university buildings.

Professor Veloso is the Past President of AAAI, and the co-founder, Trustee, and Past President of RoboCup. Professor Veloso has been recognized with a multiple honors, including being a Fellow of the AAAI, AAAS, ACM, IEEE. She is the recipient of several best paper awards, the Einstein Chair of the Chinese Academy of Science, the ACM/SIGART Autonomous Agents Research Award, an NSF Career Award, and the Allen Newell Medal for Excellence in Research.

Yehuda Dayan is Head of Data Science at Citigroup inc, Global Data Insights unit. Dr. Dayan joined the firm in 2014, and previously co-headed Citigroup’s Research Innovation Lab. Yehuda has been a data scientist and statistician for over 10 years, consulting on numerous political and marketing campaigns, audience measurement and estimation problems. He has a PhD. and MSc. in Statistics from the London School of Economics, a BSc. in Statistics and Economics from Tel Aviv University.  Located in London, he is a Royal Statistical Society Fellow.

Ivana Bartoletti is a Privacy and Data Protection professional, a media commentator and a public speaker. She is Director of Technology at Deloitte and advises businesses and organisations on best practice and how to comply with privacy legislation at the UK, EU and global level. She works across all sectors, from finance to adtech, and within the energy market. Ivana has extensive knowledge of the Privacy and ethical challenges in the smart and digital economy, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and the Internet of Things.

Ivana worked for seven years as an Information Governance Manager at the NHS Counter Fraud and Security Management and has held senior management roles at Barclays Bank and Sky TV. In 2012, she received the Best Personal Achievement in the Public Sector Award for introducing new safety policies on hospital premises.

Ivana is an International public speaker and commentator on privacy, digital rights, data ethics and regularly features on the BBC and other outlets.
