Ada-AI is non-profit organization and global community working to ensure that AI and other emerging technologies are developed and adopted in ways that are inclusive and equitable. Our mission is to foster greater participation and representation in AI so that the technologies we use work for all of us, not just a privileged few.
A STEAM School in Afghanistan
Following the appearance of The All-girl Afghan Robotics team on stage at WSAI , Roya Mahboob, Sarah Porter and founding partners Ada-AI and Digital Citizen Fund built a high school in Afghanistan that provides students with critical technical skills and exposure to emerging technologies and AI.
International Day of the Girl
Sarah Porter’s 12-year-old daughter Amelia opened WSAI introducing the Inspiring Juniors on stage for International Day of the Girl.
Fondation Botnar challenge
Yapli became one of the winners of the #thebotnarchallenge through a design workshop we hosted, aimed at fostering collaboration between young people in Europe and Tanzania to find innovative solutions to improve the health and wellbeing of young people in Tanzania.
African Alliance of Digital Health Networks at Intelligent Health 2018
We created a partnership with the African Alliance which works to ensure that African countries have the support and resources needed to develop strong digital health systems and hosted a delegation of 12 African scientists to Intelligent Health in Basel.
Workshop with the UN
We hosted the UN Secretary General’s High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation and workshop at WSAI18, focusing on shaping values for our future with AI. Outcome of the workshop led them to develop a list of values and principles around AI that they will bring to the high level panel to inform their recommendations, including a report for the UN Secretary General and wider public.
Launch of AI commons
Inspired Minds joined AI commons as a founding partner, a universal platform to encourage the democratisation of AI. Other founding partners include Yoshua Bengio, Francesca Rossi, Stuart Russell and many more.
ALLAI
ALLAI also announced at World Summit AI – a platform for the active involvement in all stakeholders when initiating AI from as early as start-up to seed stage.

Chris Broad has participated in the meteoric rise of technology giant Apple in three decades of captivating work since studying electronics in Southampton. He has risen to Director of Sales Contracting at Apple in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) over a career that has combined a technological background with international business training to promote some of the most famous products of all time.
He urges staff and students to immerse themselves in the business world as they channel their talents, and is looking forward to having some fun supporting new high-tech ventures as a Future Worlds mentor.
Chris grew up in Wokingham, Berkshire, and was drawn to what he judged as the best electronic engineering department in the country when he approached his studies at the University of Southampton. He gained industrial experience with the Racal technology firm before starting his career path in an engineering training scheme at Mars Electronics.
“A big changing point in my career was the realisation I didn’t want to just be an engineer at a lab bench,” he says. “I wanted to take engineering into the wider industrial context.”

Amir Banifatemi is a thought leader, entrepreneur, and investor. He currently leads the global AI XPRIZE while managing two venture funds in US and Europe. He has more than 25 years of experience in development and growth of emerging and transformative technologies and focuses on working with growth-oriented companies on products and initiatives that could trigger significant breakthrough with strong economic and societal impact.
Mr. Banifatemi began his career at the European Space Agency and then held executive positions at Airbus, AP-HP and the European Commission division for information society and media. He contributed to the formation of more than 10 startups with emphasis on Predictive Technologies, IoT, and Healthcare. Mr. Banifatemi is a guest lecturer and an adjunct MBA professor at UC Berkeley, Chapman University, Claremont McKenna College, UC Irvine, and HEC Paris.
He holds Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Sciences from the University of Technology of Compiègne and an MBA from HEC Paris.
